On April 19, 2024, the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, during a historic visit to Vancouver as part of the 80th anniversary of the Canadian Polish Congress, recognized the work of the M. Kopernik (Nicolaus Copernicus) Foundation for its substantial contribution to the community.

Tony Jochlin, President of the Kopernik Foundation, along with Liz Narodowski, Director of the Kopernik Foundation were in attendance, representing the Kopernik Foundation during President Duda’s visit.

Tony had the privilege of accepting the Polish flag, gifted to the Foundation by President Duda, during this significant event.

The M. Kopernik Foundation is receiving a Community Gaming Grant to support residential care services

We are pleased to announce that the M. Kopernik Foundation is receiving a Community Gaming Grant worth $58,000 to support residential care services at The Kopernik Lodge in Vancouver.

The Community Gaming Grant Program allows non-profit organizations to apply for provincial gaming revenues from the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development. Gaming grants are awarded in the categories of Sports, Public Safety, Arts and Culture, Environment and Human and Social Services.

“Our Foundation is committed to providing the best care for our seniors and to enhancing the life of our community. We are very appreciative of the Community Gaming Grant as it will allow us to provide additional services for our residents and members of the community, such as massage, music and aroma therapy, which otherwise we would not be able to afford. This kind of help is truly invaluable for a non-profit organization like ours.”
